Catherine Pooler’s SOA Beautiful World

Posted on

I really tried not to want this.  I REALLY did, but two days in I knew I was sunk.  I love Gina K’s work.  And I’ve been actively looking for beautiful, classy sentiments that do exactly what these do – go on the front of a card.

My sister in law sends a lot of cards.  Just hi, thanks, dinner was great, loved seeing you.  She’s a card sender.  And she’s busy.  So I try to make her little sets of cards for Mother’s Day.  This year 2 of the 3 sets I made her used stamps from the new SOA Beautiful World.

The Just-a-Note?  I wanted it to be single layer.  It’s a 4-bar size.  I took a hero arts flower background stamp in Gina K’s white pigment on her 120# heavyweight weight.  Let it dry.  Then I used some MFT Cornflower dye ink and stamped the corner stamp from the Gina K. SOA set and an old old sentiment from PaperTrey – I love how it fits perfectly tucked into the corner.

The other set is a CASE from the SOA blog, but I went looking thru old Gina K. sets and ta-da … Sun Kissed Autumn has a same-size flower.  I used the Sending Birthday Wishes sentiment from the SOA set.  It is just beautiful.  All of the colors I used here were hero arts neon.  I don’t use them often enough and I thought they were perfect for a bright, cheery Happy Birthday Card.  These two are single layer on Gina K 120# heavyweight weight and are 4-bar size.  Have I mentioned I love 4-bar size cards?  I ordered a box of envelopes from Amazon.  250 for $20 Prime.  Who can beat that?

This is my first SOA kit and I’m not sure how it works – in the future.  The kit sold out within the three days so is now no longer available.  I believe that the individual sets will eventually be sold by the maker.  I BELIEVE.  So hopefully the Gina K set will be available on her site in the future.  It absolutely is a must have.

The third set of 4 cards is an Art Impressions water color set of their Windows to the World. I have to say, loving those too.  Maybe I’ll post them this week.  Right now, I need to get into the kitchen and do dishes so I can continue my Mother’s Day Cards.

Have a good week everyone!  Be safe.  -k
