Day 1 Card was made last! I’m using the new brand new MFT Make a Wish Monthly Card Kit for June. Day 1 for CampCreate is glitter. I used some Sparkle N Sprinkle ultra fine glitter and tried by best to recreate Francine’s “flip-flop” card with the new flop square die. It so hard to see how beautiful the glitter is in a photo.
Obviously, I can’t do anything in order. Here is my Day 2 submission for MFT Camp Create 2016 – Die Cutting.
I took my entire inspiration from a gorgeous card Nina-Marie did on the Pretty Pink Posh blog this past week. I don’t have all of the “tools” that she used. I don’t have the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors (yet). I used Pearlex and the two golds from the Zig Kuretake Gansai Tambi set that I do have. I did use the Zig Clean Color Markers.
I used two new Blueprints that I absolutely love – 27 and 29. They’re perfect for this technique. I also used the new MFT Funky Flowers set. I’ll confess I have a hard time with “loose” on a watercolor background, so mine isn’t nearly as soft as Nina’s, but I love the way these cards came out. One is standard A2 and the other is my personal favorite (especially when I’m making gift card sets to give away) 4Bar. The base of the die is glued down directly to the cardtop and the inserts are popped. The sentiment is from the first card kit, Beautiful Blooms. It was the perfect size and I went way outside my comfort zone and fussy cut around it before adhering it down.
I have to say I’m visualizing a Christmas card with big snow flakes in blues & silvers using this technique.
Happy Father’s Day to all you dads and husbands out there who lovingly watch us (from the doorway) in our craft rooms, creating away!
Okay. I have to say. Without Jody Morrow from My Favorite Things, this card wouldn’t exist. She’s a great instructor and comes up with some amazing, amazing cards. I’m putting this under “Sliders” although (in actuality) it’s a pivot. I’m absolutely tickled at how it came out.
Inside you can see a sweet living room scene from LJD Make Yourself at Home (which is one of my most favorite sets EVER) and Birdie Brown’s Cool Cat.
But look! The kitty has snuck up and is peeking out the window! There’s a little lever on the side to make him peek up or have him hide.
Next time, I think I’ll use the Classic Window DieNamics instead.
Have a great weekend everyone. I’ll be squirreled away in my craft room after I take one of my fur-mosters to get groomed tomorrow. I have another Father’s Day card to make!
Okay, I’m still considering Sliders, so we’ll move on to watercolor – Day 3.
I had the best time watercoloring the new background stamp Bundles of Blossoms. It is SO beautiful. Took me a little bit of time. I used MFT Dye Inks squished onto my new MFT Perfect Palette and used the smallest MFT Waterbrush to paint. Not going to lie, it took a little bit of time, and I embossed with Peach Bellini Pigment Ink and clear embossing powder.
I’ll confess I don’t remember all the colors I used. When I was done I just let it dry between the pages of a book to keep it flat, then cut out the area for the die cut. Popped it up, and I was done. The cardstock is Persimmon – it’s turned into one of my favorites.
