Well, this Jennifer McGuire/Kristina Werner online card class was Stretch Your Stamps. They and the guest teachers did a darn good job of dropping my jaw every day. I love the classes and I’m amazed at the beautiful, creative work the people who take the classes come up with for “homework.”
I was laying in bed last night thinking about my day. I ate too much. I didn’t exercise. I didn’t get enough accomplished and I’ve been meaning to send my girlfriend a card. Typically our conversations, when we talk, are pretty similar. How are you? Fat. I’m a cow, pig, horse. I need Omar the Tentmaker to make me a new dress. All of the “self-image” stuff aside, sometimes you’re so busy and all you want to do is eat feel good food. And the days bleed into each other and before you know it, you’ve gained 5 pounds. Cow. Pig. Horse.
So I’m not sure how much I stretched my STAMPS, but I stretched my IMAGINATION. And for me, that’s huge. Laying in bed last night, I thought … I have all of those. I can make that card. I have a Gina K set that has FATHER. I masked off the HER, used a bunch of tiny itty bitty letters from Close to My Heart and a couple big sets from My Favorite Things. I giggled when I finished. it.
Thanks, ladies, for helping me stretch my stamps and my imagination.
