Besides being Christmas, December is a major birthday month for me. My best friend from the age of 3. My mom. My dad. Mine. My x-husband. My sister in law. Several other random girlfriend’s I’ve met over the years. A LOT of potential card opportunities, let’s just say.
And, as usual, December snuck up on me. Yeah, I know. November. December. Nevertheless, it snuck up on me.
As I’ve mentioned before, I routinely watch Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner. Okay, the word stalker has come up once or twice. They both make such beautiful night skies, I thought I’d attempt one for my girlfriend’s card. The saying on the inside is just lovely and so reflects my feelings for her. The stars danced the day you were born.
I used Broken China, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot on a panel of Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. I took nearly ever tiny star die I had (and I CUT APART my teen SSS star strip die) to make the background, running it thru the vagabond about 15 times. Looking at the picture, it could have taken a couple more times thru. Next time.
I laid the entire panel over DWCV silver glitzy paper to create silver stars. Happy and Birthday are from Winnie & Walter’s The Big, The Bold and The Happy. It’s one of my favorite sets and I’m SO glad they came out with dies to match.
Now, on to the other half dozen birthday cards – and then – Christmas Box Cards. Time does fly.
Happy Holidays everyone. 19 shopping days till Christmas.
