Online Card Class – Holiday Style – Day 1

Yes, already I’m in love.  I will admit that Debby Hughes is a talented crazy lady.  She has the most beautiful cards that she calls clean and simple – but holy moley – they seem complicated to me.  But.  She came up with idea that I absolutely LOVED.  I purchased the SSS Circle Sayings and when I got them when – um, what do I do with these?  Well, Debby CUT the circle and molded it to a “swoosh” … brilliant.  I’m so glad I have a MISTI.  I had to laugh at Laura Bassen this week – she finally caved and got one.  They’re SO awesome.  Okay, done rambling now.

My card is a loose take off of Laurie Willison’s from class today.  Just beautiful (hers….) ….. I needed to send a friend at work a thank you card.  He makes the most wonderful eye of round fresh jerky.  I’m going to send it to my son in Greenland – and believe me, I’ve had to put them in a bag and put them in a box.  I want to eat every piece …. delicious.  So this is my thank you card for my friend Paul.  I kept a theme.  Everything I used is from Gina K.  Stamps are Basket Additions by Melanie Muenchinger.  I love the fact that you don’t NEED the basket to put them in.  The journaling is from Gina’s Harvest of Wishes Mini Stamp Set.  I colored with Copics and used background paper from Gina K from I think 2 years ago.

Thanks for stopping by.

Online Card Class Holiday Style Here I Come!

Class starts Monday.  I’m so excited I can’t wait.  I’ve made a couple Holiday Cards, but pretty much I’ve just been experimenting.  Although I’m having fun, I’m not sure what I’m going to do … and time is running out quickly.

This card is a very quick and simple one layer card (if you’re good at random keep on truckin’, if you’re OCD just move on).  Blues and Silvers and the beautiful CC Design “Celebrate” embossed in silver.

These two I did with last month’s MFT background stamp called Candy Stripes Background Builder.  I’m madly in love, I must say.  On one card, I used MFT Birdie Brown set Santa’s Elves, on the other the beautiful Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Trees (which DO have matching dies).  Both pretty darn easy too.

Finally, I love window cards.  Almost any kind.  I made this one from the November 2014 Card Kit Stamp Set Winter Jubilee.  Not quite as easy.  Quite a bit more time consuming.  But oh so beautiful.  Inside I stamped a little stand of trees in the bottom left corner.

Hope to see you all in class!  I know it’s already starting to snow out West.  Keep warm everyone.  It’s a balmy 65 here in Florida.
