My best friend’s birthday is today. We had lovely day at My Favorite Things In Eustis, Florida. Sarah and Rusty were there today and we spent a good 4 hours wandering around the new (huge) store amazed at what we already own and – gasp – what we still need. Yeah, let’s just say we both got the 15% discount. We had breakfast at a sweet little cafe in downtown Eustis called Magnolia’s (very sad that their latte machine was broken). After shopping we were very hungry – just plumb worn out – so we ate a very late lunch at a wonderful Mexican place called Cabana Mexican Bar & Grill. Leese is doing the no gluten thing and Mexican is very non-gluten friendly! Rounded the trip out with a visit to Beautiful Bamboo because she’s thinking of buying some for her front yard.
I made her a card (yes, of course a la Jennifer McGuire) using the fuse. I simply couldn’t put a real gift card in it – she would have had to cut it open and I knew she never would. So I put a (wait for it) MFT Gift Certificate in it. I had such fun making it. I’m considering making another for a wonderful woman who owns a scrapbook store in Lutz, Florida. Her name is Denise and her shop is Scraporium. She needs more samples – I so understand that — Lord knows I copy everything.
I took a stamp storage pocket and made a card with my fuse (you can see Jennifer’s instructions for this here). I covered it with My Favorite Things Birthday Wishes & Balloons DieNamics. Fused it with a bunch of glitter and glass beads inside (did I mention we used to have a bead business?) and the MFT gift certificate inside. Tim Holtz made an appearance with the Happy Birthday greeting. I absolutely love it.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
